We are offering a 10% room discount this weekend if you are coming to see the Tucker Automobile Here in Ypsilanti.

The Tucker Automobile Club of America is holding its annual convention this week in Ypsilanti. We have partnered with Motorcities National Heritage Area, an affliate of the National Parks Service, on producing a historic wayside sign commemorating Preston Tucker and the Tucker car, and would like to use this opportunity to showcase the city's contribution to automotive history.

In honor of the 60th anniversary of the Tucker automobile the theme of this year's TACA convention is “Birthplace of the Dream.”

This Friday afternoon, between 2:30 - 3:30pm we will be unveiling a mock-up of the sign in front of the orginal Preston and Vera Tucker home at 110 North Park St., and designating it as an automotive heritage site. RM Auctions of Canada has graciously brought Tucker #1038 from the west coast to showcase in front of the house during this presentation, creating a great photo opportunity.

It is our hope to shine the spotlight on Ypsilanti through this great photo opportunity for the press. Given the 60th anniversary of the Tucker, his home and hometown receiving recognition, and having an original 1948 Tucker in front of the Tucker house, this will be an historic event in itself.

The Tucker Automobile Club of America would be delighted to have representives from MotorCities National Heritage Area and the Mayor's office join myself and Terry Lobzun as we unveil this sign.

Attached please find a pdf of the sign, a photo of Tucker #1038, and the Tucker home today.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you can join us on Friday.

Best Regards,

Jay
